Estimate: each company's published hourly rate × about 2h 35m of flying, with the 7.5% federal excise tax added only where the company says tax is extra, before minimums, fees and surcharges. Rates as published on each company's own site, checked October 2, 2026, at the entry purchase level (bigger purchases lower some rates). Max means a cap (trips may price lower), avg a recent average, from a starting rate. Not quotes or offers from these companies. CRAFT publishes this page and sells the Fleet Jet Card; it sits where its estimate falls, costed with its own 2-hour daily minimum.

What the number leaves out

An hourly rate times flight time is where the bill starts. These move it, in plain terms.

  • Tax and fuel

The 7.5% federal excise tax and fuel are in some rates and on top of others. The badges show what each company says; we add the tax only where it says tax is extra.

  • Minimums

Programs bill at least 48 to 120 minutes a leg, or a daily minimum (CRAFT's card: 2 hours a day, no per-leg minimum). A short hop costs more than its flight time.

  • Peak days

Most programs add 10 to 20% on the busiest dates, need more notice, or black them out.

  • Winds and routing

Flight times here are still-air estimates. Headwinds, air-traffic routing and the airport you use can add time, and billed time with it.

  • Airport and handling fees

Landing, parking and FBO handling, the federal segment tax ($5.30 a passenger a segment), crew overnights and catering often sit outside the hourly rate.

  • Repositioning

A one-off charter is priced from wherever the aircraft is. Card rates usually include getting it to you within a home service area.

  • The card itself

Card rates come with a purchase: usually 25 hours or a deposit (CRAFT's 25-hour card is $323,750). A single trip isn't sold at these rates.

  • Callout and short notice

Booking inside a program's notice window costs more or isn't guaranteed. CRAFT's card adds $750 or $1,500 an hour for 72 or 48 hours' notice, and 20% inside 48 hours.

New York to Miami: questions

How much does a private jet from New York to Miami cost?

About $24,500 to $26,000 one way on a midsize jet, estimated from 15 published jet card rates and about 2h 35m of flying. A very light jet starts nearer $14,500. On CRAFT's own Fleet Jet Card, a Challenger 350 at $12,950 an hour (fuel and FET included), the estimate is about $32,400 one way. These are estimates, not quotes: taxes, fees, minimums and peak days change the final price.

How long is the flight from New York to Miami by private jet?

About 2h 35m on a midsize jet, for 1,092 miles (949 nautical miles) great-circle. Turboprop: about 3h 50m nonstop. Very light jet: about 3h 05m nonstop. Light jet: about 2h 45m nonstop. Super-midsize jet: about 2h 30m nonstop. Large jet: about 2h 25m nonstop. Ultra-long-range jet: about 2h 20m nonstop. Winds, routing and air traffic move the real time either way.

Can a private jet fly New York to Miami nonstop?

Yes. At 949 nautical miles it is within the practical range of every size, from a turboprop up. Payload, winds and runway length can still decide it on the day.

Which airports do private jets use for New York and Miami?

In New York: TEB (Teterboro Airport), HPN (Westchester County Airport), JFK (John F. Kennedy International Airport), LGA (LaGuardia Airport), EWR (Newark Liberty International Airport), MMU (Morristown Municipal Airport), FRG (Republic Airport), ISP (Long Island MacArthur Airport), SWF (New York Stewart International Airport). In Miami: OPF (Miami-Opa Locka Executive Airport), MIA (Miami International Airport), TMB (Miami Executive Airport), FLL (Fort Lauderdale Hollywood International Airport), FXE (Fort Lauderdale Executive Airport). We price the first airport listed at each end; the others are alternatives to ask about.

How we estimate

Every figure on this page is arithmetic on published numbers. None is a quote, and no company here has priced this trip.

Distance is the great circle between the first airport listed at each end, from public airport coordinates (OurAirports).

Flight time is distance divided by a typical block speed for each jet size, plus 0.3 hours a leg for taxi, climb and descent. A size needs a fuel stop when the distance is beyond its practical range, which we set conservatively; more than 2 stops and we don't price it.

Cost is each company's published hourly rate for that size times the flight time, plus any published day fee, with the 7.5% federal excise tax added only where the company says tax is extra. The range by jet size is the middle half (25th to 75th percentile) of those figures; under four rates, the full spread. Rates come from each company's own website, checked October 2, 2026; euro rates and rates with no cabin size are left out. No licensed or third-party pricing data is used.

CRAFT's card uses its own published terms: the 25-hour rate (fuel and FET included), airborne time plus 12 minutes of taxi a leg, and the 2-hour daily minimum. We don't publish an on-demand charter estimate here; the quote form gets you a real price.

Speeds and ranges are our editorial assumptions, not manufacturer figures: payload, winds, runway length and temperature can all require a stop we don't show.
