The method

How a Jetvia trip estimate is built

  1. 1

    Flight time

Great-circle distance ÷ a typical block speed for the jet size, plus taxi, climb and descent. New York to Miami on a midsize jet: about 2h 35m.

  2. 2

    × the published rate

Jetvia's Elite Jet Card · Learjet 60, plus $8,500 a day rate: $5,500 an hour plus $8,500 a day, plus the 7.5% tax it says is added. Nothing else is added.

  3. 3

    = the estimate

About $24,300 one way. Before minimums, peak days, fees and surcharges; the company's quote is the real number.

Short hops cost more than their flight time: published minimums across programs run 48 to 120 minutes a leg, and some bill per day. Routes under 1h 30m are flagged below.
