Charlotte is a banking and corporate headquarters city, and its private flights are mostly business trips. Charlotte Douglas (CLT) is a large airline airport, but private aircraft use a separate executive terminal on the field; FAA data ranked CLT the 30th busiest general aviation airport in the U.S. in 2024. Racing at Charlotte Motor Speedway and the PGA Tour stop at Quail Hollow add spring and fall peaks.
