The Bombardier Global 8000 is Bombardier's flagship and the fastest business jet in service. It entered service in December 2025, replacing the Global 7500, and flies up to 19 passengers 8,000 nautical miles at Mach 0.85, with a maximum operating speed of Mach 0.95.
Two GE Passport engines give it 18,920 lb of thrust each. It cruises at up to 51,000 feet, and needs 5,760 feet of runway at maximum takeoff weight and 2,220 feet to land.
A new, typically equipped Global 8000 lists at $85 million (Business & Commercial Aviation's 2026 Purchase Planning Handbook). In terms of hourly cost, chartering an ultra-long-range jet like the Bombardier Global 8000 costs about $18,000 to $19,000 a flight hour on published hourly rates for the class.

Bombardier Global 8000 Cost Overview
The cost of owning a Global 8000 falls into two parts. Fixed costs are paid whether the jet flies or not: crew salaries and training, the hangar, insurance, management and other overheads. Variable costs scale with every flight hour: fuel, maintenance, engine overhaul reserves, and landing, handling and crew travel fees.
We don't publish a cost estimate for the Bombardier Global 8000 yet. No fuel burn we can cite: the manufacturer publishes no average and Conklin & de Decker's published averages don't list it. For a guide, the median ultra-long-range jet in our model costs about $1,713,437 a year in fixed costs and $8,865 a flight hour, or $3,490,937 a year flown 200 hours. Compare every model we estimate.
Until one is published, the Global 7500, the same airframe and engines at a lower top speed, is the closest guide to what it costs to run.
Global 8000 vs Global 7500 and G800
- Global 7500: the jet the Global 8000 replaced. Same cabin, 7,700 nautical miles and Mach 0.925. Out of production, so it is bought used. See the Global 6000 vs Global 7500 comparison for its numbers.
- Gulfstream G800: its closest rival. More range (8,200 nautical miles), a lower top speed (Mach 0.935) and a shorter cabin, at $80.4 million new.
How we estimate these costs
Every figure on our ownership-cost pages comes from one model, built the same way for each aircraft from public inputs: crew pay from the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, fuel burn from the manufacturer or Conklin & de Decker, one Jet A price from our jet fuel price data, and stated estimates by size class for hangar, insurance, training, management and maintenance.
Why there is no estimate for the Bombardier Global 8000 yet: No fuel burn we can cite: the manufacturer publishes no average and Conklin & de Decker's published averages don't list it. We would rather leave it out than fill the gap with a guess or another company's figures.
