Aircraft comparison

Bombardier Challenger 300 vs Bombardier Challenger 350

The 350 took over from the 300 in 2014, with more powerful engines on the same super-midsize formula. CRAFT flies three 300s and two 350s, so these are the two aircraft we know best. The same figures as our ownership cost guides, side by side: cabin and performance first, then what each aircraft costs to own and fly.

What's different

Engines
The 300 has two Honeywell HTF7000s (13,652 lb of thrust in all); the 350 moved to the HTF7350, 14,646 lb in all. Both cruise up to 45,000 feet.
Range
Bombardier's published figures are close: about 3,220 nautical miles for the 300 and 3,200 for the 350 in optimum configuration. CRAFT publishes about 3,000 miles for its 300s and 3,200 for its 350s: coast to coast without a fuel stop.
Cabin
Both are stand-up, flat-floor cabins. As CRAFT configures them, the 300s seat 9 and the 350s 8, each with Starlink; the 350s add Apple TV.
Age and price
The 300 was delivered from 2003 to 2014 and the 350 from 2014; the 350's successor, the Challenger 3500, has delivered since 2022. A pre-owned 350 averages about $22 million. Challenger 350 vs 3500

Ownership and operating cost

Fixed costs are what the aircraft costs before it moves: crew, hangar, insurance, management. Variable costs are charged by the hour flown. CRAFT's own estimates, built the same way for every aircraft from public inputs; the real figures depend on how and where you fly.
